"The tought that capitalism is killing music occurred to me during the mid 1980s advertising campaign in Britain by the major multinational record companies, the slogan of which was 'Home Taping Is Killing Music'. In their clumsy attempt to blaming their falling sales on the common practice of taping friends' records, the record companies clearly implie that if they didn't sell enough records then music would somehow 'die'."
